Center for Bioterrorism and All-Hazards Preparedness Accreditation Program

The Center for Bioterrorism and All-Hazards Preparedness of Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine is a regional resource for the provision of medical and health professions education focused on bioterrorism and all-hazards preparedness and response.

The threat of natural disaster and terrorism in the United States is real and proven. We believe that all healthcare professionals and workers must be provided with up-to-date information and training in rapid assessment skills so that they can initiate and support care should an event occur. The importance of educating healthcare professionals in surveillance, prevention, and public health issues is paramount. In response to this need, Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine has partnered with Broward Community College to develop training programs and to share information for health care professionals, health care workers, first responders, and health care administrators in the state of Florida.

Training is accredited, free, and provided through a HRSA continuing education grant. It is available in multiple formats including web-based courses, speaker programs, and CD and booklet formats. Courses are available at 4 levels including:

  • Basic Awareness Course (now available online and through speaker programs)
  • Intermediate Course (coming soon)
  • Advanced Course (in development)
  • Executive and Hospital Administrator Course (in development)

Courses can also be adapted to meet the specific needs of your organization.
