• Mobeen Rathore,MD, FAAP, FCAAP/FPS President-Elect and Director of the University of Florida Center for HIV/AIDS Research, Education and Service (UF CARES), recently received level 3 Patient Centered Medical Home recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). This is the highest level of patient centered medical home recognition given by the NCQA.
• Stephen Fischer,MD, FAAP, FCAAP/FPS member, and his group practice, Family Doctors of Belleview, received Level 2 PCMH from the National Committee for Quality Assurance. This is an amazing accomplishment, being the only medical practice within a 500 mile radius to have met the 2011 criteria.
• Edward Packer, DO, FAAP, FCAAP/FPS Board Member, is featured in the fall 2011 issue of COM Outlook, the official magazine of Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
• William E. Bruno, MD, FAAP, was recognized by the Pediatric Club at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine with the Arnold Melnick Child Advocacy Award
• Jeffrey L. Goldhagen, MD, MPH, FAAP, was awarded the Job Lewis Smith Award given by the AAP Council on Community Pediatrics “Recognizes outstanding service in community pediatrics."
• Daniel Plasencia, MD, FAAP, was given the Local Heroes Award by the AAP Council on Community Pediatrics “Recognizes pediatricians who are leaders through community action and advocacy for children in their local community.”
