Safe Kids Summer Safety Report

SAFE KIDS WORLDWIDE SUMMER SAFETY RANKING REPORT

Safe Kids Worldwide (previously known as the National Safe Kids Campaign) has released a new report ranking child safety and injury prevention by state.

Safe Kids Worldwide (previously known as the National Safe Kids Campaign) has released a new report ranking child safety and injury prevention by state. Timed for a summer release, the report ranks state efforts to prevent unintentional injuries on a number of issues that disproportionately impact child safety during the summer months, such as drowning, bicycle injuries, and motor vehicle crashes.

This comparative look at injury prevalence may be especially helpful to AAP chapters advocating for stronger injury prevention laws. The report is located at the link below:

In addition to the report from Safe Kids, be sure to see the Academy's new Summer Safety Tip Sheets. The tip sheets provide guidance to parents and caretakers on child safety and how to mitigate hazards posed to children during the summer season. These summer safety tips are available from the Academy's Web site at: http://www.aap.org/advocacy/releases/summertips.htm
