Thank you to all FCAAP members who participated in the nominations process for the 2025 election. The Nominations Committee has confirmed a slate of excellent candidates for this year’s election. Learn more about each candidate and the positions they are running for below. All voting members of FCAAP will receive an electronic ballot in June and are encouraged to participate in this year’s election to select their representatives to serve on the 2025-2027 FCAAP Board of Directors. All new Board members will be inducted on Sunday, August 31 at the annual conference – The Future of Pediatric Practice 2025. Learn more and register to attend at futureofpediatrics.org.

The positions open for election and the candidates approved by the FCAAP Nominations Committee for each position are as follows. All candidate statements are available here.

• Region I Representative (representing Marion, Sumter, Lake, Seminole, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Hardee, Highlands, Volusia, Brevard, Indian River, Okeechobee, and St. Lucie counties)
  • The Region I Representative is elected by the current voting members of FCAAP located in Region I.
  • The Nominations Committee has approved Dr. Fatma Levent and Dr. Laura Chilcutt as the 2025 candidates for Region I.
• Region III Representative (representing Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Manatee, Sarasota, and DeSoto counties)
  • The Region III Representative is elected by the current voting members of FCAAP located in Region III.
  • The Nominations Committee has approved Dr. Carolyn Marasco and Dr. Jamee Walters as the 2025 candidates for Region III.
• Region V Representative (representing Miami-Dade and Monroe counties)
  • The Region V Representative is elected by the current voting members of FCAAP located in Region V.
  • The Nominations Committee has approved Dr. Michael Maurer and Dr. Joanna Perdomo as the 2025 candidates for Region V.
• Pediatric Subspecialist At Large Representative (representing Florida’s pediatric subspecialists)
  • The Pediatric Subspecialist At Large Representative is elected by the current voting members of FCAAP.
  • The Nominations Committee has approved Dr. Randell Alexander as the 2025 candidate for this position.

FCAAP’s Bylaws set forth the responsibilities of the regional and at large representatives as follows:

• Representatives shall be available for appointment to committees, councils, and task forces of the organization and may be requested by the President to be the organization’s local representative to the media when issues of importance arise. In such instances, the Representative designated by the President shall take care to ensure that the official position of the organization is appropriately represented.
• Representatives shall promote membership through active service on the Membership Committee.
• Representatives shall serve as ambassadors to non-members and convey information regarding the initiatives, goals, and missions of the organization.
• Representatives shall make a concerted effort to represent the organization by attending local and regional meetings and shall inform members and non-members about the activities of the organization, highlighting the benefits of membership.
• Representatives shall be available to respond to issues regarding the health and welfare of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults in Florida, and to coordinate local and national resources when possible.

Only current voting members of FCAAP will receive a ballot to participate in this year’s election. New or renewed members will not be eligible to vote once the ballots are sent. Ensure your membership is current no later than June 6, 2025, to participate.

The election ballot you receive will contain only those positions for which you are eligible to vote.
