Zika Update Added to The Future of Pediatric Practice 2016!

In response to the emergence of the Zika virus in Florida, FCAAP has coordinated with the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control to bring up-to-date information to The Future of Pediatric Practice 2016. Dr. Georgina Peacock, MD, MPH, FAAP, will share an update on Zika and what pediatricians need to know about the virus starting at 7:30am on Saturday, September 2.

Dr. Peacock is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in General Pediatrics and in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. She serves as the Director for the Division of Human Development and Disability and as an expert member of the CDC’s Children’s Preparedness Team, she holds a substantial role in public health disaster preparedness and response for children.

The Future of Pediatric Practice 2016 also welcomes State Surgeon General, Dr. Celeste Philip, MD, MPH, as a guest speaker. Dr. Philip, who is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, will be joining California Senator Dr. Richard Pan, Chapter Lobbyists Doug Bell and Marnie George, and Director of the AAP Division of State Government Affairs Jim Pawelski during the Lobbying 101 workshops on Saturday afternoon to provide additional information about Zika in Florida.
