Vaccines are one of the most effective tools for protecting children and communities from infectious diseases. The goal of pediatricians is to work with families and to provide families with clear, evidence-based information to help them keep their families safe.

Below are a variety of resources for families, law makers, and pediatric healthcare professionals to support informed decision making to help ensure all of Florida’s children and communities are protected.


FCAAP has published a variety of Public Service Announcements to help keep Florida’s families informed. Most of the PSAs are available in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole.

  • Germs: Germs are everywhere. Teach your kids these tips to help them stay healthy. Watch the PSA here.
  • Community Immunity: The importance of immunizations, herd immunity, and healthy habits are explained in this delightful short video for children which is based on the illustrated children’s book written by teen author, Ethan Posard, and is a collaboration with FCAAP. #IamTheHerd is a community immunity awareness initiative to protect public health and the most vulnerable in our community. Do vaccine requirements for school entry really make a difference?

YES! School vaccine requirements are essential to helping to keep our communities healthy. They stop deadly diseases from spreading, keep schools open, protect families, and safeguard Florida’s economy.

Community partnerships play a key role in keeping everyone in our communities healthy. Florida Families for Vaccines, a grassroots network of family members dedicated to advocating for public health and evidence-based public policy and promoting immunizations for healthier kids and communities, is one of the newest organizations to partner with FCAAP.  Learn more about their current work, including recent studies on the impact of vaccines in Florida, below.

  • During the 2026 Florida legislative session, FFV is working to protect strong vaccine laws. Read more about this work here.
  • A recent economic study revealed that weakening school vaccine requirements would cost Florida $9 billion and 64,644 jobs. See the date from the study here.
  • Whooping cough is resurging in Florida. It spreads easily when vaccination falls below 93%. This study shows how the decline in vaccination has led to an increase in cases in Florida.
  • Polling across Florida shows that Florida voters strongly support maintaining school vaccine requirements. See the results of the polling in this report.

Pediatricians have special training in child health and are trusted resources for families seeking information on how to help their children grow, stay healthy, and thrive. FCAAP is the trusted resource for pediatricians to access resources and education to help them stay informed and do what they do best – take care of kids! Below are several resources to help pediatricians and other healthcare professionals in their conversations with families about the recent measles outbreaks and about vaccinations in general.
