The Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FCAAP) is proud to announce its award winners for 2022! The recipients received their awards Sunday, Sept. 4 at a ceremony held during the Future of Pediatric Practice 2022 annual conference, held at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts.

The Audrey Lincourt Schiebler, RN, FAAP, and Gerold Schiebler, MD, FAAP, Advocacy Award

The Schiebler Advocacy Award is given annually to a physician who has worked beyond the profession, educated local and state legislators, and diligently advocated to improve the health and welfare of Florida’s children.

Mobeen Rathore, MD, CPE, FAAP has been selected as the 2022 recipient of the FCAAP Audrey Lincourt Schiebler, RN, FAAP, and Gerold Schiebler, MD, FAAP, Advocacy Award! Dr. Rathore, a former FCAAP President, is a tenured Professor & Associate Chair, University of Florida (UF); Chief, Infectious Diseases and Immunology, Wolfson Children’s Hospital and UF; Founding Director, UF CARES and Pediatric Infectious Diseases; and Founding Division Chief of the Division of Hospital Medicine and General Academic Pediatrics at UF. Dr. Rathore also has played a major role for Jacksonville area hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic, coordinating health care efforts and educating the public.

AAP Special Achievement Awards

The AAP Special Achievement Awards are given to recognize outstanding AAP work of individuals or chapter achievements. Each chapter may identify up to three individual member achievements to be considered for this award. FCAAP recognized the following outstanding members in 2022.

• Brandon Chatani, MD, FAAP, for providing expert guidance throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, helping FCAAP to educate Florida’s health care providers, educators, and caregivers.
• Shannon Fox-Levine, MD, FAAP, for a decade of service as the FCAAP Pediatric Council Chair and serving as a strong advocate for appropriate Pay for Services on behalf of Florida’s private pediatric healthcare providers.
• Mobeen Rathore, MD, FAAP, for volunteering countless hours providing expert guidance on COVID-19 related issues, helping FCAAP advocate for proper use of masks and increased access to vaccines.
