FCAAP members are invited to participate in the Chapter’s 2023 Virtual Legislative Advocacy Training Program, consisting of three important virtual training courses that will provide an overview of the legislative process and discussion of legislative issues impacting children’s healthcare in Florida including health equity and vaccinations.
The webinar series kicks off on February 28 at 6:30pm ET with a discussion of Vaccine Data and Health Equity presented by Robert E. Colón Jr., North Regional Manager of the Florida Department of Health’s Immunization Section and Dr. Tolu Adebanjo McKenzie, Director of Health Equity Education and Associate Professor of Pediatrics for UCF College of Medicine.
FCAAP Lobbyists Doug Bell, Esq. and Aimee Diaz-Lyon, Esq. of Metz, Husband & Daughton, PA will shed light on the legislative process and how to effectively communicate with legislators during an overview of Advocacy on March 7 at 6:30pm ET.
The series will round out with a discussion on Addressing Misinformation presented by Rekha Lakshmanan, MHA, Chief Strategy Officer for The Immunization Partnership (TIP), Houston and contributing expert to Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy on March 13 at 6:30pm ET.
