Election Day 2020 is Tuesday, November 3, and the last day to register to vote in Florida is Monday, October 5. Pediatricians are in a unique position to educate their patients and families about the importance of voting, and the resources available to do so. To help facilitate those conversations, FCAAP is offering resources from VotER, a non-profit, non-partisan voter registration effort. VotER engages health care professionals to provide their patients and families with non-interruptive ways to opt-in to register to vote or request their vote-from-home ballot.

VotER has created a Healthy Democracy toolkit, which includes a variety of tools to help with this effort, including a lanyard and badge backer that allows patients to register to vote virtually. Below are several resources:
- Sign up to receive a Healthy Democracy toolkit. There are also digital FCAAP-branded options, including a badge backer and a phone background.
- FCAAP-branded Posters (in English and Spanish) to hang up in your clinic or practice, encouraging your patients to register to vote. (Customize your own here.)
- Resources for telehealth visits and having the conversation about the importance of voting.
You can also consider adding free voting registration tools and Florida-specific Election Resources, Deadlines, Dates, Rules, and Links from Vote.org to your practice website.
We also encourage you to review and share AAP’s Election 2020: Vote Kids resource page to learn more about health equity and key child health issues, and find additional voting resources and social media messaging to help encourage your contacts to #supportFLkids and #VoteKids this November!
