Florida Reimbursement Assistance for Medical Education Program

The goal of the Florida Reimbursement Assistance for Medical Education (FRAME) program is to encourage qualified medical professionals to practice in underserved locations of the state. Qualified physicians are eligible for up to $20,000 per year. The FRAME portal will open to accept new applications on February 1, 2023, and will remain open until March 31, 2023. Selections will be made on or before June 1, 2023.

Spots are still available for pediatric practices interested in joining a quality improvement project focused on infection prevention and control. Join us for an ECHO project funded by the CDC’s Project Firstline. This project offers CME, MOC2, and MOC4 credit, as well as a financial incentive to participants who complete the project.

Florida Chapter of American Academy of Pediatrics, Inc. Celebrates Approval of Amended Settlement Agreement in its Medicaid Access Lawsuit Against the State of Florida

TALLAHASSEE — In 2002, under the leadership of then President Dr. Rick Bucciarelli, the Florida Chapter of American Academy of Pediatrics, Inc. (FCAAP), decided to sue the State of Florida for failure to assure that children on Florida Medicaid have appropriate access to Early Periodic Screening Diagnosis and Treatment services.

Vaccinated for the Holidays!

FCAAP is collaborating with the Infectious Disease Prevention Network and other community partners, on two community vaccination events in Florida. Each event will feature a discussion about the impact of vaccines on the community, food, activities, and an opportunity for families to receive their COVID and influenza vaccines.

ASPR Schedules Virtual Pediatric Town Hall on Current Surge in Respiratory Viruses

The Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR), in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH), and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), are hosting a combined Regions II and IV Virtual Pediatric Town Hall focused on the current surge in respiratory viruses that is exacerbating the ongoing strain on pediatric health care facilities.
